Southern Guinea Savanna Research Station is situated in Mokwa, Niger State. The station has the following mandates:
To address socio-economic/ environmental/forestry related challenges of the Southern Guinea Savanna via cutting-edge Research.
To ensure equitable and sustainable management of the biodiversity through awareness creation and massive tree planting programs.
To collaborate with International, National, State, LGAs, Corporate organizations and NGOs in all environmental related issues.
Establishment of agroforestry plantations as a means to poverty alleviation of peasant farmers in the region.
Carry out Consultancy services in Forest Management, Plantation and Orchard Establishment, Landscape Plans and Planning, EIA/EIAR.
