Brief Informtion about Outstation

Onigambari Research Station was established in 2017. The station is situated in Idiayunre, kilometer 20 along Ibadan Ijebu-Ode road. The Station already has a thriving nursery consisting of various indigenous and exotic tree seedlings.

To be the best and foremost research center of excellence with respect to knowledge-based forestry activities as measured by the acquired scientific Breakthroughs in the areas of forest resources, conservation, management and utilization; forestry manpower development and general sustainable environmental Protection

  • Improvement of silvicultural techniques for indigenous, exotic as well as other multipurpose tree species.
  • Development of suitable agroforestry systems for adoption among relevant stakeholders in the host communities.
  • Ensuring the sustainability, wellness and resilience of FRIN plantations in and around Onigambari area.
  • Plantation establishment through reforestation, afforestation and enrichment planting of rare and endangered species of economic and medicinal value.
  • Environmental protection and education program that focus on collaborative opportunities between the station and the neighbouring communities.
